The Story Of Kidz Power Railway: Part One

This is the story of the original Kidz Power Railway layout. This was before my time, but I'll do my best to describe the large original layout that predates my time at the Club.

The original Kidz Power Railway layout was constructed off an L-shaped layout previously owned by Kevin Phillips of the Central Coast. He donated it to the growing Junior Group for use as their development layout.

It was extended to create a full loop to run trains around. Extra scenery, including a farm, were added, as well as more trees. More boards were constructed as well.

It first appeared at the 2011 Forestville Model Railway Exhibition, and then appeared at the 2012 Forestville and St Lukes model railway exhibitions. These next photos are of the near-complete layout during the Forestville 2012 Exhibition.

Eventually, there was no more to be done on the original Kidz Power Railway and the members of the club decided to build a new, two track, small loop layout/Module. Currently, we know it as 'Module One'.

Module Three The Model Train Layout: An Introduction

This blog is designed to report on the progress of the North Shore Railway Modeller's Association (Sydney)'s Junior Group's layout, Module Three.

It is currently under construction and currently has two main lines, a harbour area with 3 tracks, and a fiddle yard area. A tramline is also under construction. It is expected that the Faller Car System will be added at some point.

It is being built to replace the aging layout 'Kidz Power Railway's second incarnation, as it is growing old and has been seen extensively over the last several years at the Forestville and St Luke's Exhibitions.

There should be a post on the history of the layout Kidz Power Railway eventually..

Thank you for reading.
